THIS ROOF IS NEARLY TORN OFF AND IT'S ONLY 10AM!

roof replacements done in one day by new look roof contractors

Our New Look roofing contractors were up and ready today. It's not even noon and our contractors have torn off almost all of this existing layer of shingle. Our next step will be to clean debris and start a layer of 15b lb felt paper. After the felt paper we can begin laying the ice guard in all the valleys and start laying starter shingles. It's going to be a long day for these roofers!

Our New Look Roof contractors were up and ready early this morning. It's not even noon and the crew has torn off almost the entire existing layer of shingles on this Louisville home.

Speed matters on a roof replacement, but so does doing each step correctly. Once the tearoff is complete, the crew clears all debris from the roof deck before anything new goes down. A clean deck is important because any leftover material or debris underneath the new layers can cause problems down the road, trapping moisture or creating uneven surfaces for the underlayment.

From there, the crew lays a full layer of 15 lb felt paper across the entire deck. This acts as a moisture barrier between the decking and the finished shingles, giving the roof a secondary line of defense against water intrusion if shingles are ever damaged or lifted by wind.

After the felt paper comes the ice and water guard, installed in all the valleys where water naturally channels down the roof. For Louisville homes this step is especially important. Our winters bring freeze-thaw cycles and ice storms that put real stress on those low points of the roof, and skipping or rushing the ice guard installation is one of the most common reasons roofs develop leaks within a few years of being replaced.

Once the ice guard is in place, starter shingles go along the eaves and rakes, and then the field shingles can be laid row by row across the full surface. It's going to be a long day for this crew, but this is what a well-run roofing operation looks like.
